Each of these tracks, except one, are original songs by HC
Derksen. They deal with topics such as a person's Christian
walk, giving encouragement and guidance. HC takes an upfront,
in your face approach with much of the album while, at the
same time, keeping it lighthearted.
Henry's song, "She Loves Me," is a dedication to his wife
Barbara. Lyrics for "If Jesus Had Voicemail," comes from the
idea that everyone seems to have a message on their answering
machines. He couldn't help but wonder what it would be like if
calling to the Lord in prayer, you received His answering
machine.
"Miracles," which is also the title for his CD, is about
life-changing experiences and "It's a Miracle" is about the
miracles of salvation that God has done. The song, "Closest to
Jesus," is about several friends who serve others in their
unselfish ways.
The rhythms and poetry are unique. The words come from God.
The words are challenging to people and he hopes they will
make people think and make them feel good. The purpose of the
CD is to help change a few lives with his music."
